Hi! My name is James Simmons, and I absolutely LOVE officiating weddings! I am a proud father of 3 beautiful kids! My beautiful daughter Kaylee, my boys Luke and Levi. Grandfather of two. My daughter Kaylee and son-in-law Brenden gave me my grandson Harrison and granddaughter Brycelyn Olive! I am so honored to be inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame by couples just like you!
I am so grateful that 98% of couples that visit with me at their free, no obligation consultations give me the honor of being there to officiate on one of the most important days of our lives. Reverend Loren Jones is a professional wedding officiant with 100s of wonderful weddings under his belt. He is a “people person” that exudes joy and happiness!
He has been a public speaker for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Austin Area Weddings team. He brings a sense of calm, levity, and joy to his ceremonies.
Steven Salazar
Reverend Steven Salazar is one of our bilingual Spanish/English officiants. He has spent more than 23 years sharing the gospel around the world and was ordained in 2014 by the late Bishop Kenneth Phillips, and again in 2022 under Oasis Church by Bishop Jonathan and Pastor Stephanie Suber.
He currently serves as Prayer Director at Oasis Church, overseeing a team of 80+ and assisting Bishop Suber in ministry. Throughout his years of service, Steven has ministered as an evangelist, missionary to Liberia, and teacher dedicated to equipping believers in their God-given purpose. He has officiated dozens of weddings and remains connected with many of the couples he has married.
Steven considers it a true joy and honor to be part of such a meaningful moment in your life and is grateful to be considered as your officiant.
Caleb Ryan
For Caleb, weddings are more than events, they’re once-in-a-lifetime moments filled with love, meaning, and connection. With experience guiding 200+ weddings as a DJ/MC and coordinating over 100 celebrations, he brings a deep understanding of how to shape a day that feels effortless, personal, and unforgettable.
With 3+ years in the wedding industry, he has a calming presence couples lean on, a warm energy guests feel, and a passion for love stories that shines in every ceremony he officiates. He believes every couple deserves to feel heard, supported, and celebrated, not only on their wedding day, but throughout the journey leading up to it.
Steven Small
Personable and confident, Steven Small is a natural communicator who thrives in social settings. While new to officiating, his professionalism, charisma, and ability to make others feel comfortable make him an excellent choice for couples seeking a warm and engaging ceremony.
Steven approaches each wedding with sincerity and care, ensuring every moment reflects the couple’s unique bond.
Tammy Guerrero
Originally from Santiago, Chile, Tamara Guerrero, known as Tammy, has called Austin her second home since the birth of her two children, now ages 13 and 11. She is also a proud dog mom to her four-legged companion, Toby. Tammy has a natural love for people and connection. When she’s not officiating weddings, she enjoys the gym, a good cup of coffee, reading, and watching great movies. She’s especially passionate about the outdoors, with the beach being her favorite escape.
Currently enrolled in a nursing program, Tammy is deeply drawn to caring for others and supporting meaningful life moments. Her spiritual nature and compassionate approach guide her work as a wedding officiant, where she creates ceremonies filled with warmth, intention, and joy. Fluent in Spanish, Tammy offers ceremonies in English, Spanish, or both, ensuring every couple feels seen, celebrated, and at ease on their special day.

While his youthful energy is infectious, his ability to craft and deliver a deeply personal love story is what truly sets him apart. Caleb doesn’t just perform a ceremony; he sets the entire “vibe” for your wedding day with a presence that is both professional and profoundly joyful. We are so proud to have him on the team, and we know your guests will be just as captivated by his soulfulness as we are.
Suhail Arastu
Suhail Arastu is a cultural leader and host whose work bridges the arts, civic life, and international cultural exchange. Raised in San Antonio, he studied Neurobiology and Classics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was an NCAA gymnast before traveling the world through programs connected with the United Nations Economic & Social Council.
Today, Suhail works in Institutional Advancement for Musical Bridges Around the World and serves as the Mayor’s appointee to the San Antonio Arts Commission, where he chairs the Performing Arts, Music & Film Committee.
A Marshall Memorial Fellow and San Antonio Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree, Suhail is known for bringing warmth, wit, and a sense of occasion to every gathering he hosts—including the wedding ceremony he is honored to share with you today.
